Presentation

Review course on the latest advances in imaging of the liver, biliary system, and pancreas. We will analyze the role of CEUS and US-elastography, spectral and perfusion CT and morphological and functional MRI in the different clinical scenarios of hepatobiliary and pancreatic pathology. With special focus on the optimization of acquisition protocols and the interpretation and quantification of the information obtained.

All this taught by a first-class faculty from several of the main academic centers in the USA (Harvard Medical School, Mayo Clinic, Memorial Sloan Kettering Center, Pittsburgh liver center, NY university, John Hopkins Hospital and Northwestern University), completed with other selected lecturers.

  • Review the technical imaging advances that allow optimization of CT and MR acquisitions for the assessment of hepatobiliary system and pancreas
  • Update diagnostic imaging criteria based on clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and staging of pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.
  • Analyze how to increase the detection and improve the characterization of the different focal hepatic lesions with CEUS, spectral CT and MRI.
  • To review the role of multi-echo MRI sequences, MRI-elastography and US-elastography in the assessment of diffuse liver disease.
  • Evaluate the role of MR cholangiography in the study of the gallbladder and the bile ducts.
  • Update the role of advanced imaging studies in the evaluation of focal and diffuse pancreatic disease.
  • Analyze the maturity and implementation in clinical practice of Artificial Intelligence solutions for medical imaging in the evaluation of liver, pancreatic and biliary system pathology
